Bethesda’s #BE3 Conference was Incredible!

by Karl BoydJune 11, 2018

Rage 2

The show kicked off with a live performance from Andrew W.K. who sang the new theme for Rage 2. I was dancing around the room like a looney at 2.30 AM here in England, the crowd at E3 however seemed a little less excited by this.

In terms of the game, having not played Rage myself, I am incredibly excited for this game. Avalanche Studios have joined up to make this bizarre looking thrill ride an open world exploration game full of mutants, powers and a lot of weapons and vehicles. The gameplay looked action packed and completely over the top. From the demo they gave us it looks like this may be one of the bigger releases in the near future.

Elder Scrolls Legends

Since the game was released I have played a lot on both my phone and my tablet, if you like card games, there aren’t many that compete with Legends, due to it’s story mode, challenges and competitive online play. Bethesda have now announced a complete graphical overhaul of the game to allow a port to the Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. They also announced that your progress from the hand held/PC version will be able to carry over to these new ports.

Elder Scrolls Online

Bethesda announced that since launch, the 3-time MMO of the year Elder Scrolls Online has had 11 million players, which is a huge achievement. I played this game a lot when it first came out, but I haven’t loaded up in a while. With the newly released Summerset DLC getting some nice reviews, it may be time to jump back into the open world of Tamriel.

It has now been announced that a new dungeon DLC named Wolfhunter will be the next instalment, featuring a story around werewolves and sounding very cool. To top it all off later this year we see a full story expansion with Murkmire, taking players back to Blackmarsh to learn more about6 the mysterious Argonian race and the culture that comes with it.

Doom Eternal

Doom was one of those games it is hard not to enjoy, whether it be the original 1993 version or Bethesda’s 2016 reboot. Doom Eternal is set to take everything we loved about these games and amplify it in a huge way.

“You want the Doom Slayer to feel even more powerful? We’ve got it. You want even more badass demons? There are twice as many in this game. You want to see Hell on Earth? We just teased it. But what we’re most excited about is showing you some of the things that you might not be expecting.”

Doom Eternal will be fully revealed at Quakecon this August.

Quake Champions

The original E-Sports FPS is having a free trial from June 10-17, with new features added to the game to freshen things up. Players will have access to the full roster of current and future champions, as well as getting 3 free loot boxes as part of the trial.

Head over to Quake.bethesda.net for more info.

Prey

Prey’s latest update is out now and sees 3 brand new modes being added to the game. Story mode, New game + and Survival mode. This is a free update and is something fans of the game have been asking for, I love it when devs take notice!

“Story Mode, for those looking to casually experience the game’s immersive narrative; Survival Mode, which will put your veteran cosmonaut to the test with hardcore hazards like oxygen levels and bleeding; and New Game+, which gives all players a whole new reason to return to Prey after they complete the game.”

On top of that the brand new Mooncrash DLC is also available right now! Mooncrash is a mode where everything matters, and everything changes upon death, your playthrough will change each time.

Wolfenstein

Not only did Bethesda drop the news that The New Colossus will be coming to switch, they also announced the next game in the series. Wolfenstein Youngblood is set in Paris in 1980, the player, or players will take the role of B. J’s twin daughters, and the game can be played in either single player or co-op mode.

Skyrim … Alexa Edition?!

Nice try Bethesda…You almost had me!

Fallout 76

We knew that this would be the main attraction of the show, and because of that it has it’s very own article here.

Mobile Games

Fallout Shelter is another mobile game that is highly addictive, and now the game will be making the big move to both PS4 and Nintendo Switch. This could be seen coming . . . Elder Scrolls Blades however caught me off guard. Prices of mobile battery charging kits are about to soar, because this looks amazing. A full first-person RPG, on your phone that can be played in the traditional landscape, OR, can now be played in portrait mode!

The game is set for later this year, and just like Fallout Shelter will be completely free to play. If you can’t wait that long you can also register for early access! I have!

Finale

Starfield is something we have heard about for a while, and due to the lack of content it would appear that it will still be a few years before we get our hands on it. All we know is it is a brand-new franchise and will be set in space. It is a single player Bethesda title, they struggle to make bad games, so I am excited.

Then there was the one we have all been waiting to hear about. The Elder Scrolls VI, a very short video was played, with no details of a title, a setting, or anything really. I like that they let us know it is happening but the greedy nerd inside of me needs more detail! E3 is not over yet so there is still hope within me!
